Cramond schools close amidst severe storm warnings
All Cramond schools have been forced to close at 12pm today (Thursday, December 8) due to the impact of severe weather.
The decision was made by Edinburgh Council after the Met Office issued a red alert warning of wind.
Severe storm-force winds and heavy rain are expected to batter the area and there is even a yellow alert for snow for tomorrow.
Lothian and Borders Police are warning people not to travel unless essential and as a result, the council has closed all leisure facilities.
And unfortunately, all Edinburgh's Christmas activities in East Princes Street Gardens, including the German Market, will be closed until further notice.
Travel has also been disrupted, with alterations to several bus services – these can be viewed here - and the Forth Road Bridge is currently closed due to gusts of up to 84mph.
